Our story
Established in March 2015, Avalanche Studio aspires to innovate and design products that enhance holistic quality of life. In doing so, we would like to offer people the chance to maintain an active lifestyle, even those with temporary and/or permanent injuries.
Avalanche Studio has designed a novel athletic sling which allows the required immobalisation of an injured arm for prolonged exercise and activity. This patent approved product was invented by John Cooper as a result of his Brachial Plexus Injury.
Born out of necessity and over several iterations, the ultimate Arm Sling is now an integral part of John’s life and has allowed him to avoid amputation and more importantly, retain an active lifestyle.
Meet our team
Anthony J. Cooper
Co-founder / Director
Having suffered Brachial Plexus as a result of a motorbike accident, Anthony (AJ) invented the design of PLEXFIT for his own use. PLEXFIT allows him to live an active lifestyle. Proven to have made a positive impact on his life, AJ had the vision to bring PLEXFIT to market and help others.

Prior to Avalanche, AJ worked for a multinational Investment Bank in Australia and Singapore. AJ also has an Executive Masters of Business Administration from the University of Wollongong.
Abhishek D. Mohla
Co-founder / Director
Son of Dr. Dushyant J. Mohla, Abhishek had lived and worked in Mumbai, London and Hong Kong before moving to Singapore in 2011. Here he met AJ while working for a multinational Investment Bank. Committed to help others, Abhishek teamed up with AJ and they founded Avalanche Studio in March 2015.

Abhishek holds a Masters of Engineering degree from the University of York (UK). He is an avid musician, a competitive Tennis player and is attempting to reduce his Golf handicap!
Dr. Cindy Lin
Chief Medical Advisor
Dr. Lin has a Medical Degree (MD) from Harvard Medical School and completed her residency training at Stanford University Hospital. She has practiced medicine in Singapore and the United States. She is dual U.S. Board Certified in Sports Medicine and Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.
She is the author of multiple publications in medical journals and speaks regularly at international sports and rehabilitation medicine conferences. Avalanche met with Cindy during the product innovation phase, and she continues to guide us with her expertise.
Dr. Raye Yeow
Biomedical Engineering Technical Advisor
Raye obtained his PhD in Bioengineering from National University of Singapore in 2010, and was a Postdoctoral Fellow at the BioRobotics Lab in Harvard University from 2010-2012. He is currently an Assistant Professor at the Department of Biomedical Engineering, National University of Singapore, specializing in soft wearable robotics.
Avalanche engaged Raye to help with a Quantitative Analysis on the improvements of PLEXFIT athletic over a conventional Arm Sling. Ever since, Raye has been instrumental in advising Avalanche through the design engineering process.
